Our Processes
Stage 1 On Site Templating
Templating is the most important part of our process to ensure you have perfectly installed granite worktops. We will always make an appointment to visit your home, spend time with you to discuss your exact requirements and colour selection and producing exact replicas of your granite worktops using plastic sheets called correx.
No wall is exactly straight so it is important to produce physical templates to make sure your granite is cut correctly to fit your exact requirements ensuring your worktops are perfect fit.
Stage 2 Slab Selection
Every granite slab is inspected by our stringent quality control before the manufacturing process is started to ensure your worktops are only manufactured from premium quality slabs. Any flawed material is identified and rejected. All material is then sealed before manufacture and then again before it leaves our factory.
Stage 3 Bridge Saw Cutting
Once your granite worktops have been templated and the stone selected and checked we will place the chosen slab on our state of the art bridge saw which with cut out all your template pieces, once each piece is cut and again checked they will be ready for the next process.
Stage 4 Edgeing and Polishing
Once cut to size your granite worktops are polished on our multi head edge polisher, which has six edge polishing positions. This means consistent flawless results even on the most intricate edge.
Stage 5 CNC Cutting for Sinks and Groves
Any sink cut outs, draining grooves or curved edges are produced on our CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machine. The CNC will cut your sink hole to the sink manufacturers exact specifications. to ensure your sink is cut out is perfect. The CNC machines will then polish the sink cut out giving a beautiful finish. The draineing grooves are also cut and polished on the CNC machines, which will cut and polish your grooves on a gradient. Therefore your drainer grooves are inclined, so they do not just look good but serve a purpose of draining the water into the sink. Any special curved or shaped cuts are also manufactured on the CNC machines
Stage 6 Finishing
All pieces once cut, polished and CNC machined are then taken to our finishing area and it is here that a time served stonemason will check all pieces and carry out hand finishing using skill and water fed hand tools to ensure every edge of your pieces are polished and finished to the highest standard.
Stage 7 Quality Control
Finally your granite worktops do not leave our factory until they have passed our quality control inspector to ensure a perfect finish everytime. Once checked and passed your worktops are then ready to be installed.
